A Little Update from LPS

We wanted to share some of the happenings within LPS over the past few years.  As you know LPS is a family business, started in 1999 and delighted to still be here in 2022.

I know some of you have been with us from the very beginning – in fact some of our ALX Machines sold in 1999 are still packing ready meals today!  But we wanted to check in with you and update your with how our business has changed and grown over the past 23 years.

We have changed and adapted over the years, adding in smaller more bespoke range of labelling machines, eco-friendly paperboard trays for our ready meals and we have added contract packing too – offering services ranging from over-labelling to quality checking.

Alongside this in 2017 Nicola one of our directors set up a charity – South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank.   This is a Charity that provides new school clothing to children living in South Ayrshire.  Clothes are distributed via Clothing Hubs which are set up within each school and Key Charities and Council offices.  These hubs have a selection of uniforms and are distributed by Teachers/Social works when needed.  The best bit about these hubs is that a need can be seen and fulfilled in the same day – there is no application needed, no boxes to be ticked just a need seen and fulfilled discretely.

The biggest challenge for the charity was fundraising so in 2019 Nicola set up a Social Enterprise Kindness & Co CiC which makes candles/melts and all profits go back into South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank and a few other local charities.   Kindness & Co now funds 99% of all the uniforms provided.

All of this couldn’t be done without the help and support of everyone at LPS, being within a family business offers a degree of flexibility…it also offers storage space for school uniforms, candles and all that comes with it!  Our warehouse smells amazing too!

So that’s what we’ve been up too, 23 years in business really has flown by!  Please just get in touch if we can help with anything.
